Upload Your Documents
Users start by uploading documents — like reports, policies, or presentations — to the RiskCede platform. These documents are securely stored and linked to the user’s profile.
Behind the scenes, the system also extracts the text and key images and creates embeddings for each one. These embeddings are what make our smart search possible.
What Are Embeddings?
Think of embeddings as how AI understands meaning. Instead of just matching exact words, we convert each document (and search query) into a list of numbers — a vector — that captures its meaning in context.
For example:

Even if your document says “evacuation drill” and the user searches “emergency fire response,” the system knows those are likely related — because their embeddings are close together in the vector space.
Smart Search, Natural Language
Instead of keyword hunting, users can type natural questions like:
“Where can I find our disciplinary policy for late attendance?”
This query is turned into an embedding, which is then compared to the document database. The system returns the most semantically relevant documents — not just those with matching words, but those that match the meaning.
Summarise and Chat With Your Documents
Once the user selects a document, we extract the relevant content and use a language model to generate a summary and enable interactive Q&A.
The LLM provides a human-like summary, then the user can ask questions in a chat interface.
Example:
User: What are the key changes in this year’s health policy?
AI: This year’s policy introduces a new co-payment structure for outpatient visits and adds coverage for mental health services.
The LLM retains memory of the conversation, so follow-up questions work naturally — like talking to an expert who just read the document.
Behind the Scenes: Smart PDF Processing
One of the challenges in using LLMs is presenting the document in a way the model can fully understand. We extract:
- Cleaned text from each page
- All images or graphs. The content of these might not even be described in the document.
This ensures the model gets the full picture — literally — so it can answer more accurately.
RAG: Retrieval-Augmented Generation
Why not just ask GPT directly?
Because GPT was trained on open data — not your internal documents. It won’t know your company’s policies, reports, or procedures.
Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), we feed your document into the LLM during the conversation. This gives you GPT-quality answers grounded in your private data, securely and accurately.
Save and Download History
Users can download a summary of the document along with the full conversation — including all the questions they asked and the AI’s answers. It’s like walking away from a meeting with clean minutes and a briefing note.

The model will critique the report and highlight potential questions that might arise. It will suggest answers to these questions and provide a strategy for dealing with them.
Security You Can Trust
We know your documents are sensitive. That’s why our platform includes:
✅ Private server hosting — all files stay in your environment.
✅ Authentication and access control — users only see what they’re allowed to.
✅ No third-party LLM sharing — models can be hosted locally or accessed securely via API.
Private and Encrypted Storage: All uploaded PDFs are stored in a private server-side directory that is not publicly accessible. Files are encrypted at rest to prevent unauthorised access.
Access Control: Only authenticated users with proper permissions can view or interact with uploaded documents. Unauthorised users have no visibility into other clients’ data.
No Unapproved Sharing: Documents are never shared with or exposed to third-party users or services unless explicitly required (e.g., to an LLM for summarisation), and only under strict data agreements.
Secure Processing: When using external APIs (e.g., for AI summarisation), we use trusted vendors (e.g., Together.ai) and transmit only the necessary data via secure HTTPS. We can provide documentation on their data handling and retention policies.
Data Retention and Deletion: Documents and derived data (e.g., summaries or embeddings) can be deleted at any time at the client’s request. They are not retained beyond the agreed-upon retention period.
